- Alpha1-Microglobulin is strongly associated with a yellow-brown chromophore of unknown structure and about half the plasma alpha1-Microglobulin is convalently linked to monomeric IgA. The plasma concentration range is 20-100mg/L. The function is not known. It has been implicated in immunoregulation and through its translation as a diprotein with bikunin it is associated with proteolysis inhibition. Elevated levels are associated with renal disorders and abnormalities of the renal tubules, elevated plasma IgA. Sub-normal levels are associated with HIV-infection, some liver dysfunctions and decreased plasma IgA. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence, ELISA, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunofluorescence: 10ug/ml Immunohistochemistry (Formalin fixed paraffin embedded): 1ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
