Extra Details:: While hCG is secreted in large quantities by normal trophoblasts, it is present only in trace amounts in non-pregnant urine and sera but rises sharply during pregnancy. Besides trophoblastic tumors e.g. choriocarcinoma, large cell carcinoma, adenocarcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma of the lung are also positive in 90%, 60% and 20% of cases respectively. hCG expression by non-trophoblastic tumors may indicate aggressive behavior. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Immunohistochemistry (frozen): 1:50-1:100 (1-2ug/ml). Immunohistochemistry (paraffin): 1:50-1:100 (1-2ug/ml; microwave treatment in 10mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0 recommended). Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: JAR or TT Cells. Placenta. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
