- MUC1, also known as CD227 or CA15-3, is a transmembrane glycoprotein that plays a central role in epithelial cell biology and has emerged as one of the most extensively studied tumor-associated antigens. Aberrant overexpression and altered glycosylation of MUC1 are hallmarks of numerous adenocarcinomas, making it a critical marker in cancer research and a promising therapeutic target. Beyond oncology, MUC1 serves as an important epithelial membrane antigen for studying mucosal barrier function and cellular signaling pathways. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin): 1:50-1:200. Clear, specific staining in paraffin-embedded human stomach tissue. Antigen retrieval with high pressure in citrate buffer pH 6.0 is recommended. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
