Tyrosine hydroxylase, also known as tyrosine 3-monooxygenase, is the enzyme that converts amino acid L-Tyrosine to L-3, 4-Dihydroxyphenylalanine (L-DOPA). L-DOPA is a precursor to dopamine, which is then converted to norepinephrine and epinephrine (adrenaline). Dopamine, norepinephrine and epinephrine are all important neurotransmitters. Alterations in the activity of tyrosine hydroxylase may be involved in a number of neurological diseases such as Parkinson's and schizophrenia Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: 1-10ug/ml. Less reactive in human tissue in Western Blot. Immunohistochemistry (FFPE): 0.5ug/ml. Requires HIER using sodium citrate. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
