- Collagen type II is a fibril-forming heterodimeric protein present in cartilage, cartilaginous zones of tendons, and intervertebral discs that is subject to citrullination by peptidyl arginine deiminase 2 (PAD2) and PAD4. Citrullinated collagen type II and autoantibodies to citrullinated collagen type II have been found in synovial fluid isolated from patients with rheumatoid arthritis, with autoantibodies appearing years prior to clinical disease onset. Anti-citrullinated collagen type II antibodies induce proteoglycan depletion of cartilage and arthritis in mice. 052849 was produced recombinantly from the sequence of the original anti-citrullinated collagen type II monoclonal antibody, ACC1, substituting the mouse IgG2a variable domain for the rabbit IgG variable domain Applications: Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry and ELISA. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
