Extra Details:
Gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) is the primary inhibitory neurotransmitter in the central nervous system, causing a hyperpolarization of the membrane through the opening of a Cl− channel associated with the GABA-A receptor (GABA-A-R) subtype. GABA plasma membrane transporters (GATs) influence synaptic neurotransmission by high affinity uptake and release of GABA. To date, four distinct GABA transporters have been identified: GAT-1, GAT-2, GAT-3, and BGT-1. GAT-2 is found in a wide range of neuronal and non-neuronal cells including dendrites and axon terminals as well as epithelial cells and cells forming the pia and arachnoid complex (Conti et al., 1999) Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1:100-1:200 Immunohistochemistry: 1:100-1:200 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
