- CD41 (platelet glycoprotein IIb, integrin alpha IIb) is composed of two subunits (120kD transmembrane alpha chain and 23kD extracellular beta chain) and interacts with CD61 (platelet glycoprotein IIIa, integrin beta 3) in the presence of calcium to form a functional adhesive protein receptor. CD41/CD61 complex is one of the earliest markers of the megakaryocytic lineage. Upon blood vessel damage, this receptor binds to a variety of proteins including von Willebrand factor, fibrinogen, fibronectin and vitronectin, and it is involved in platelet aggregation. Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Flow Cytometry: 10ul labels 10e6 cells of 100ul whole blood or 1x10e6 cells in suspension Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Store product at 4°C in the dark. DO NOT FREEZE! Stable at 4°C for 12 months after receipt as an undiluted liquid. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Caution: PE conjugates are sensitive to light. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap.
