Extra Details:: Powassan virus is a positive-sense, single-stranded RNA virus that belongs to the genus Flavivirus, of the Flaviviridae family. POWV is an arbovirus, transmitted by Ixodes and Dermacentor ticks, depending on geography (Hicar et al., 2011). Infected ticks then transmit the virus to small-medium sized mammals, which act as reservoirs. POWV can also be transmitted to humans, which are an incidental, dead-end host for the virus (Hermance et al., 2017). Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Lateral Flow. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
