- FTO (Fat mass-and obesity-associated gene) is the responsible gene for mouse 'fused toes' mutation. An association between FTO genotype and type 2 diabetes has been confirmed. The presence of the FTO rs9939609 A-allele was found to be positively correlated with other symptoms of the metabolic syndrome, including higher fasting insulin, glucose, triglycerides, and lower HDL-cholesterol. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Immunoprecipitation, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: ELISA (direct and indirect): 1:2000-1:5000 Western Blot: 1:2000-1:5000 using ECL; suggested blocking and dilution buffer is PBST containing 0.05% Tween 20 and 5% skim milk; suggested incubation time is 1 hour at room temperature Immunohistochemistry (paraffin sections): 1:2000 Immunoprecipitation: 1-5ul/sample in a final reaction volume of 500-1000ul Optimal dilutions to be determined by researcher.
