- Epitope tags are useful for the labeling and detection of recombinant proteins using western blotting, immunoprecipitation and immunostaining techniques. The eight amino acid DYKDDDDK peptide is an established and multi-functional epitope tag and can be expressed and detected with a recombinant protein as an amino-terminal or carboxy-terminal fusion (1). The DYKDDDDK antibody binds to the same epitope recognized by anti-FLAG antibodies. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and ELISA. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1:1000 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
