Extra Details:: Plays a key role in glycolysis and gluconeogenesis. In addition, may also function as scaffolding protein. Defects in ALDOA are the cause of glycogen storage disease type 12 (GSD12) [MIM:611881]; also known as red cell aldolase deficiency. A metabolic disorder associated with increased hepatic glycogen and hemolytic anemia. It may lead to myopathy with exercise intolerance and rhabdomyolysis. Belongs to the class I fructose-bisphosphate aldolase family. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry, ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunohistochemistry: 1:20-1:200 Western Blot: 1:1000-1:5000 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
