They break down the substrate into smaller peptides or free amino acids by breaking the amide bonds (-CO-NH-) in proteins or peptides. The detection principle of this kit is: Protease hydrolyzes substrates to generate products. The activity of protease in the sample can be calculated by measuring the absorbance change of the product per unit time at a wavelength of 750 nm.
