- When hybridoma cells are injected into the peritoneal cavity, the cells multiply and produce fluid (ascites) in its abdomen. Ascites fluid contains a high concentration of antibody making it inexpensive and easy to use. Ascites is commonly used as the source for antibody production from hybridoma cell lines. Roller bottle service is available for clients with specific antibody expression requirements.
