- SOS1 (son of sevenless homolog 1) is a ubiquitously expressed 150kD intracellular protein and bifunctional guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF), which plays a role in growth and differentiation signalling pathways and in actin reorganization, by acting as a regulator of Ras and Rac/Rho GTPases. Mutations in the SOS1 gene are responsible for the rare oral overgrowth condition known as gingival fibromatosis 1 (GINGF1), and also the cause of the relatively common autosomal dominant disorder Noonan syndrome type 4 (NS4), characterized by short stature, congenital heart malformation, bleeding diathesis and distinctive facial features. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Immunofluorescence and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: Detects a band of ~150kD in K562 and RAJI cell lysates under reducing conditions. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
