- Phenobarbital or phenobarbitone is a barbiturate, widely used as an anticonvulsant, it also has sedative properties. Applications: Suitable for use in RIA. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: RIA: 250,000 tests/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Precurser: Phenobarbital-1-N-valeric acid (BSA coupled). MW: 332.36 Molecular Formula: C17H20N2O5 Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
