- PILR-alpha (paired immunoglobulin-like type 2 receptor alpha; also FDF03) is likely a 55kD type I transmembrane (TM) glycoprotein member of the Ig-superfamily. Mature mouse PILR-alpha is 271 amino acids (aa) in length. It is expressed on macrophages, neutrophils and mast cells. PILR-alpha contains a 167aa extracellular domain that shows one V-type Ig-like domain. Its cytoplasmic region contains at least one ITIM sequence. One isoform at the N-terminus is known in mouse that shows a 25aa substitution for the first 28 amino acids. Over aa21-197, mouse PILR-alpha shares 64% and 42% amino acid identity with rat and human PILR-alpha, respectively. Applications: Suitable for use in Direct ELISA, Western Blot and Flow Cytometry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: 0.1mg/ml Flow Cytometry: 2.5ug/10e6 cells using J774A.1 mouse reticulum cell sarcoma macrophage cell line Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
