- NFATC1 (Nuclear factor of activated T cells c1), also called NFAT2a, is a 120kD, 943aa member of the NFAT family of transcription factors. NFATC1 is found in T cells and mast cells, and regulates cytokine transcription. NFATC1 is normally cytoplasmic and phosphorylated at Ser172 within a transactivation domain. Upon a rise in intracellular Ca++, dephosphorylation occurs via calcineurin, and NFATC1 enters the nucleus. Multiple isoforms exist. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: 1ug/ml using Jurkat human acute T cell leukemia cell line treated with PMA and lonomycin Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
