Weitere Details:
This transmembrane proteolipid protein is the predominant myelin protein present in the central nervous system. It may play a role in the compaction, stabilization, and maintenance of myelin sheaths, as well as in oligodendrocyte development and axonal survival. Mutations in this gene cause X-linked Pelizaeus-Merzbacher disease and spastic paraplegia type 2. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms or having different 5' UTRs, have been identified. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry, Immunofluorescence, Flow Cytometry and Western Blot. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunohistochemistry: frozen and paraffin sections Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Hybridoma: SP2/0 myeloma cells with spleen cells from Balb/c mice. Storage and Stability: Store product at 4°C if to be used immediately within two weeks. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Caution: FITC conjugates are sensitive to light. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.  Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
