- Lumican is a secreted matrix protein that belongs to the small leucinerich proteoglycan (SLRP) class II family. Mature Lumican has a negatively charged N-terminal domain that contains tyrosine sulfates, followed by twelve leucine-rich repeats, which are flanked by cysteine loops. Lumican is expressed widely in mammalian connective tissues, while corneal Lumican exists as a keratan sulfate proteoglycan in adult cartilage, Lumican exists primarily as a glycoprotein and lacks keratan sulfate. The aa sequence of human Lumican shares 88% aa sequence identity with that of mature mouse Lumican. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 2ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
