Weitere Details:
Exocrine organs produce various secretions, each with its characteristic function. Proteins found in secretions may be divided into two groups: those specific for the particular secretion, and plasma proteins independent of the type of exocrine cells. Lactoferrin belongs to the first group. It is an iron containing protein with a molecular weight of 75000 and it is antigenically different from transferrin. Lactoferrin has a slight antimicrobal action. Originally identified in milk, its presence has also been demonstrated in other secretions as saliva, semen and tears. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunoelectrophoresis and ELISA. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: 1:1000-1:7000 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Peroxidase/IgG protein molar ratio (E/P): ~1.7 Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.  Labeled with horseradish peroxidase (HRP). Sodium azide is a potent inhibitor of peroxidase and should not be added to HRP conjugates. HRP conjugates are sensitive to light.
