- HIV-1 is equipped with the envelope gp160 glycoprotein for interaction with Langerhans cells (LCs) and dendritic cells (DCs), the members of the innate immune system, which confront the virus at the portal of virus entry in the human body. These cells are equipped with receptors by which they bind and endocytose the virus. The gp120 glycoprotein is used for binding to CD4 receptor and CCR5 co-receptor of T helper 2 (Th2) cells, and is able to induce FcepsilonRI(+) hematopoietic cells to produce IL4, which inactivates the host adaptive immune response. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Immunocytochemistry, Immunohistochemistry, Human T-cell Research, Drug Screening and gp120 Capture Assays. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: ELISA: 1:2000 ELISA (Capture): 1:500 depending on the capture ligand CD4 concentration and gp120 concentration in the test sample. Typical assays with 100ng of solid phase CD4 will detect at least 10ng/ml gp120. Western Blot: 1:2000 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
