- GTP-binding proteins (G-proteins) play a critical role in signal transduction by coupling receptors to effectors. The intracellular consequences of G-protein activation include second messenger generation, protein phosphorylation, ion channel activation, gene induction, cell growth, and differentiation. Gi belongs to the pertussis toxin sensitive G-proteins. Gi consists of three different subtypes of alpha-subunits (alphai1, alphai2 and alphai3). Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Immunohistochemistry: Paraffin sections require HIER with citrate buffer, pH 6.0 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: Western Blot: L6 Cell Lysate Immunohistochemistry: Rat cerebellum Storage and Stability: Store product at 4°C if to be used immediately within two weeks. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
