- FAM3A, (Family with sequence similarity 3, member A) also known as "2-19" is a member of a short-chain four alpha-helical bundle cytokine family. Little is known about it other than it is expressed in vascular endothelium and pancreatic duct epithelium. It is synthesized as a 230 amino acid (aa) precursor that contains a 33aa signal sequence and a 197aa mature region. It will likely be glycosylated with a molecular weight around 22kD. Mature human FAM3A is ~93% aa identical to mature mouse and rat FAM3A. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1ug/ml using recombinant human FAM3A Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
