- The protein encoded by this gene is a glycoprotein and a member of the NADPH oxidase family. The synthesis of thyroid hormone is catalyzed by a protein complex located at the apical membrane of thyroid follicular cells. This complex contains an iodide transporter, thyroperoxidase, and a peroxide generating system that includes this encoded protein and DUOX2. This protein is known as dual oxidase because it has both a peroxidase homology domain and a gp91phox domain. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein have been described for this gene. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Peptide ELISA: 1:32,000 Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin): 4-6ug/ml Requires HIER using Tris/EDTA buffer pH 9 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
