Weitere Details:: This is an N-terminal truncation of the E. coli DNA Polymerase I protein, at amino acid #323. This truncation results in the deletion of the 5' to 3' exonuclease domain, but leaves the polymerase function unaffected. The introduction of two additional mutations (D355A and E357A) results in the abolition of the 3' to 5' exonuclease activity.
