- Cytomegalovirus is a herpes viral genus of the Herpesviruses group: in humans it is commonly known as HCMV or Human Herpesvirus 5 (HHV-5). HCMV infections are frequently associated with salivary glands, though they may be found throughout the body. HCMV infection can be life-threatening for people who are immunocompromised (e.g. patients with HIV, organ transplant recipients, or neonates). Applications: Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Immunofluorescence: 10ug/ml Western Blot: 10ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
