- The human homolog of Drosophila discs large (Dlg) contains a C-terminus domain homologous to known guanylate kinases, and a src homology 3 region motif. This structure is characteristic of the membrane associated guanylate kinase (MAGUK) proteins. DLG mRNA transcripts are widely distributed in mouse and human tissues, and the protein is localized to regions of cell-cell contact. In Drosophila, the germ line mutations in the lethal discs large 1 (dlg) locus result in imaginal disc neoplasia and a prolonged larval period followed by death. Recessive lesions have been described in seven Drosophila genes that lead to overgrowth of the imaginal discs. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence, ELISA, Western Blot and Immunoprecipitation. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: 1:1000 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: Human Hela cells, Jurkat cells, Caco-2 and human T lymphocytes. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
