- CD98 (also known as fusion regulatory protein-1, FRP-1) is widely distributed on hemopoietic and non-hemopoietic cells. The levels of CD98 expression is very high on most cell lines but is low on platelets and granulocytes. CD 98 expression is increased on lymphocytes after their activation. Erythrocytes do not express CD98. CD98 is a disulfate-linked 125kD heterodimeric membrane glycoprotein that is composed of an 80-90kD glycosylated heavy chain and a 40kD nonglycosylated light chain. It may be involved in the regulation of cellular activation. Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry, Immunohistochemistry and Immunoprecipitation. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Flow Cytometry: 1:50-1:200; 10ul labels 10e6 cells in 100ul. Immunohistochemistry: Frozen sections Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
