- CD31 is a 130-140kD glycoprotein, also known as platelet endothelial cell adhesion molecule (PECAM-1), EndoCAM, and gpIIa. It is a member of the Ig superfamily, expressed on endothelial cells, platelets, granulocytes, monocytes/macrophages, dendritic cells, and T and B cell subsets, and is critical for cell-to-cell interactions. The primary ligands for CD31 have been reported to be CD38 and the vitronectin receptor (av b3 integrin, CD51/CD61). Other reported functions of CD31 are neutrophil emigration to sites of inflammation, and angiogenesis. This antibody has been shown to inhibit in vitro and in vivo functions of CD31. Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry, Immunohistochemistry and Immunoprecipitation. Not suitable for formalin fixed paraffin embedded, paraformaldehyde fixed paraffin embedded or Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Flow Cytometry: ≤1.0ug/10e6 cells in 100ul Immunohistochemistry: acetone-fixed frozen sections and zinc-fixed paraffin-embedded sections Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
