- The 53-6.7 monoclonal antibody has been shown to react with both the alpha and alpha′ chains of mouse CD8 (Ly-2 or Lyt-2), an antigen co-receptor on the T cell surface which interacts with MHC class I molecules on antigen presenting cells. The CD8 alpha and CD8 alpha′ chains can form heterodimers by associating with a beta-chain which is expressed on a subpopulation of mature T cells. CD8 alpha expression, in the absence of CD8 beta, has been detected on subsets of γδ TCR-bearing T cells, on intestinal intrathymic lymphocytes, and dendritic cells. Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C before opening. DO NOT FREEZE! Stable at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use. Stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Freezing APC conjugates will result in a substantial loss of activity. APC conjugates are sensitive to light.
