- Cadherin-13, also known as H-Cadherin and T-Cadherin, is a GPI-linked calcium dependent adhesion molecule that is predominantily expressed in heart and brain. Cadherin-13 negatively influences cell growth and is down regulated in some cancers. A 116 residue N-terminal propeptide is proteolytically removed to generate mature Cadherin-13. Human and mouse proCadherin-13 share 95% amino acid identity. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Flow Cytometry and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: 1ug/ml, detects recombinant human Cadherin-13 under non-reducing conditions. Flow Cytometry: 0.25ug/10e6 cells using NCI-H460 human large cell lung carcinoma cell line. Immunohistochemistry: 3-25ug/ml using immersion fixed paraffin embedded sections of human skin. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
