- Human Bone Morphogenetic Protein 2 (BMP2) is a disulfide-bonded homodimeric protein with an apparent molecular weight of 26kD. BMP2 regulates similiarly to its nearest homologue BMP-4 diverse fundamental processes during embryonic development: BMP2 and other BMP proteins have great potential for medical therapeutic applications, in particular because they allow or at least accelerate the ossification of extensive bone lesions. BMP2 lacks the natural N-terminus which results in a 15-20 fold increase of specific activity. BMP2 is a heparin binding protein. Applications: Suitable for use in FLISA, Western Blot and Neutralization. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C before opening. DO NOT FREEZE! Stable at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use. Stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Allophycocyanin (APC) is light sensitive. Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
