- Bin1 is a ubiquitously expressed protein that interacts with the N-terminal region of the oncoprotein Myc. It inhibits cell transformation by Myc and has been implicted in Myc-mediated apoptosis. Bin1 is structurally related to amphiphysin, a breast cancer associated autoimmune antigen, and RVS167, a negative regulator of cell cycle in yeast. Bin1 is frequently absent in carcinoma cells and the gene maps to a hot spot for deletion in prostate cancer. Thus Bin1 has the features of a tumor suppressor and may play a role in apoptosis or cell cycle regulation. Applications: Suitable for use in FLISA, Western Blot, Immunoprecipitaton and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: detects Bin1 in a RIPA lysate of cells. Immunohistochemistry: Gives positive staining for Bin1 in C2C12, LNCap, HeLa, and Rat1 cells. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. *Recommended secondary antibodies: I1904-06C: IgG, H&L (HRP) (X-Adsorbed) Pab Gt xMo I1904-06H IgG, H&L (HRP) (X-Adsorbed) Pab Gt xMo Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile glycerol (40-50%), aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
