- Capricostatin A is a major analogue of a parallel series of analogues of geministatin A, a recently described depside antibiotic isolated from the fungus Austroacremonium gemini. Capricostatin A contains a Δ15,16 double bond in the C15 side-chain and is the Δ18,19 dihydro analogue of geministatin A. Capricostatin A exhibits potent antibacterial activity and no cytotoxic activity. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with methanol or DMSO. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
