- The guanylate-binding proteins (GBPs) are a family of interferon-induced GTP-binding proteins function in innate immunity against microbial and viral pathogens. In humans, there are seven GBPs from hGBP1 to hGBP7. Human GBP1 and GBP2 have been shown to exhibit antiviral activity as well as being able to regulate the inhibition of proliferation and invasion of endothelial cells in response to interferon (IFN). GBP5 promotes selective NALP3 inflammasome responses to pathogenic bacteria and soluble but not crystalline inflammasome priming agents. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Immunohistochemistry, Immunofluorescence and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: Rat Liver Tissue Lysate, Human Liver Tissue Slide Molecular Weight: ~64kD (predicted), 66kD (observed) Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
