- Multifunctional protein that is required for efficient pedestal formation in host epithelial cells during infection. The extracellular region acts as a receptor for bacterial intimin, allowing the bacterium to attach tightly to the host-cell surface. Simultaneously, the intracellular region initiates a signaling cascade in the host cell, which leads to actin polymerization and formation of actin pedestals at the sites of bacterial adhesion (By similarity). Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
