- PPAR gamma, also known as peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma, is member of the nuclear hormone receptor subfamily of transcription factors. It regulates transcription of genes involved in Insulin action, adipocyte differentiation, lipid metabolism and inflammation. It is implicated in numerous diseases including obesity, diabetes, atherosclerosis and cancer. It also activators include prostanoids, fatty acids, thiazolidinediones and N- (2-benzoylphenyl) tyrosine analogues. PPARG may modulate macrophage functions such as proinflammatory activities, and stimulate oxidized low-density lipoprotein (x-LDL) uptake. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Flow Cytometry and Immunofluorescence/Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
