- Mafa acts as a transcriptional factor. Mafa specifically binds the insulin enhancer element RIPE3b. Mafa cooperates synergistically with NEUROD1 and PDX1. Phosphorylation by GSK3 increases its transcriptional activity and is required for its oncogenic activity. Mafa regulates the insulin gene transcription. Mafa is involved either as an oncogene or as a tumor suppressor, depending on the cell context. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
