- It is involved in the activation of the cytotoxic T-cell response and the clearance of virally infected cells. CD8 is predominantly present either as homodimer or a multimer of the alpha chain or as heterodimer of the alpha and beta chains. Bovine CD8 differs from the CD8 molecules of other animal species and shares 57.85% identity with porcine, 37.70% with mouse, 27.50 % with chicken, and 20.69% identity with carp. CD8a recognizes bovine CD8 lymphocytes and gamma delta CD8+ lymphocytes. In addition it reacts with the CD8 lymphocytes of water buffalo. Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Flow Cytometry: Neat 1:10 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
