- Phosphatidylethanolamine binding protein 1 (PEBP1), also known as Raf kinase inhibitor protein (RKIP), is a member of the phosphatidylethanolamine-binding protein family and a serine protease inhibitor which inhibits thrombin, neuropsin. PEBP1 plays a pivotal modulatory role in several protein kinase signaling cascades. Protein kinase C (PKC) phosphorylates PEBP1, resulting in release of Raf-1 and activation of MEK and ERK. Expressed in many tissues, PEBP1 is implicated in the regulation of such physiological processes as membrane biosynthesis, spermatogenesis, neural development, and metastasis suppression. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunocytochemistry/Immunofluorescence, ELISA, Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Hybridoma: F0 myeloma cells with spleen cells from BALB/c mice. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
