Weitere Details:
EGF is known as epidermal growth factor. This gene encodes a member of the epidermal growth factor superfamily. The encoded preproprotein is proteolytically processed to generate the 53aa epidermal growth factor peptide. This protein acts a potent mitogenic factor that plays an important role in the growth, proliferation and differentiation of numerous cell types. Additionally, it acts by binding with high affinity to the cell surface receptor, epidermal growth factor receptor. Defects in this gene are the cause of hypomagnesemia type 4. Dysregulation of this gene has been associated with the growth and progression of certain cancers. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants, at least one of which encodes a preproprotein that is proteolytically processed. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Immunohistohemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: 0.1-0.5ug/ml Western Blot: 0.1-0.5ug/ml Immunohistochemistry (paraffin): 0.5-1ug/ml Requires HIER using sodium citrate buffer pH6.0 prior to staining. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
