- TAGLN2 is a homolog of the protein transgelin, which is one of the earliest markers of differentiated smooth muscle. The function of this protein has not yet been determined.mouse and human TAGLN2 share 95% aa sequence identity. The deduced 199aa TAGLN2 protein shares 69.7% aa sequence identity with rat neuronal protein NP25 over 195aa. Northern blot analysis detected TAGLN2 expression in all 16 human tissues examined, with high expression in lung, liver, kidney, spleen, thymus, small intestine, colon, prostate, testis, ovary, placenta, and peripheral blood leukocytes, lower expression in skeletal muscle, pancreas, and heart, and lowest expression in brain. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry, Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: 1:100-1:5000 Western Blot: 1:50-400 Immunohistochemistry (frozen): 1:50-500 Immunohistochemistry (paraffin): 1:10-100 Immunocytochemistry: 1:50-500 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
