- A leucine-rich repeat (LRR) is a protein structural motif that forms an alpha/beta horseshoe fold. It is composed of repeating aa20-30 stretches that are unusually rich in the hydrophobic aa acid leucine. Typically, each repeat unit has beta strand-turn-alpha helix structure, and the assembled domain, composed of many such repeats, has a horseshoe shape with an interior parallel beta sheet and an exterior array of helices. In an effort to isolate as many candidate oncogenes as possible from the region 11q13.5-q14, Ollendorff et al. (1992) isolated a sequence, containing a gene they provisionally named GARP. They cloned the homologous sequence in the mouse and located it on chromosome 7. The murine and human genes were mapped by in situ hybridization. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry and Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: 0.5-2ug/ml Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin): 5-20ug/ml Immunocytochemistry: 5-20ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
