- DLL4 is a homolog of the Drosophila delta gene. The delta gene family encodes Notch ligands that are characterized by a DSL domain, EGF repeats, and a transmembrane domain. The predicted 685aa DLL4 protein exhibits all of the hallmarks of the Delta family of Notch ligands. It has an extracellular region containing 8 EGF-like repeats and a DSL domain involved in Notch binding, as well as a transmembrane domain and a cytoplasmic tail that lacks catalytic motifs. Human DLL4 shares 87%aa sequence identity with mouse Dll4. Northern blot analysis of mouse tissues detected highest Dll4 expression in lung, followed by heart, kidney, skeletal muscle, and brain; Dll4 expression was barely detectable in spleen and testis. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry, Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: 1:100-1:5000 Western Blot: 1:50-400 Immunocytochemistry: 1:50-500 Immunohistochemistry (frozen): 1:50-500 Immunohistochemistry (paraffin): 1:10-100 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
