- The BCAS3 gene is regulated by estrogen receptor alpha (ER-alpha). The PELP1 protein acts as a transcriptional coactivator of estrogen receptor induced BCAS3 gene expression. In addition BCAS3 possesses histone acetyltransferase activity and itself appears to act as a coactivator of ER-alpha. Furthermore BCAS3 requires PELP1 to function as a coactivator in ER-alpha. The deduced 913aa protein has a calculated molecular mass of 99kD. Northern blot analysis revealed a 3.9-kb transcript expressed in all tissues examined. Several smaller transcripts showed tissue-specific distribution. Multiple tissue expression array analysis indicated ubiquitous expression, with highest levels in stomach, liver, lung, kidney, fetal kidney, prostate, testis, thyroid gland, and adrenal gland. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry and Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: 0.5-2ug/ml Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin): 5-20ug/ml Immunocytochemistry: 5-20ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
