- Metapneumovirus was discovered in 2001 and is distributed worldwide. Infection in the upper respiratory tract is associated with mild illness, while lower respiratory tract infection can cause fever, cough, pneumonia, bronchiolitis and wheezing. Severe lower respiratory tract infection is most common in the very young, the very old and the immunosuppressed. Metapneumovirus is a common cause of respiratory infection. Source: Cell Culture Applications: Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence, ELISA, Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
