- Melanin Concentrating Hormone (MCH) is the ligand of the somatostatin-like receptor 1 (SLC1 or MCH Receptor). This hormone induces melanosomal aggregation within melanophores and has orexigenic properties and is antagonistic to melanotropin. MCH may act as a neurotransmitter or neuromodulator in a broad array of neuronal functions directed toward the regulation of goal-directed behavior, such as food intake, and general arousal. May also have a role in spermatocyte differentiation. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence, PAP or ABC. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunofluorescence: 1:200 PAP or ABC: 1:500 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Sequence: Cys-Asn-Pro-Ser-Val-Pro-Lys-Gln-Arg-Val-Met-Lys-Leu-Thr-Lys Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
