- Activins belong to the TGF-beta superfamily. They are homo- or heterodimers of activin beta subunits. At least four mammalian beta subunits, A, B, C, and E, have been described. The beta c subunit homodimerizes to form Activin CC. A naturally occuring Activin AC heterodimer has also been reported. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1:500-1000 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
