- Recognises the rat equivalent of human CD11b. CD11b is a single-pass type I membrane protein that belongs to the integrin alpha chain family. CD11b is predominantly expressed in monocytes and granulocytes and is implicated in various adhesive interactions of monocytes, macrophages and granulocytes as well as in mediating the uptake of complement-coated particles (Ref: SWISSPROT). CD11b is also frequently used as a microglial marker allowing to distinguish between quiescent and activated microglia based on the intensity of CD11b staining. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Immunohistochemistry, Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: 1:100-1:3200 Immunohistochemistry (Formalin/Paraformaldehyde-fixed paraffin-embedded sections): 1:25-1:200 Immunocytochemistry: 1:200 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
