- Human TWEAK is a new secreted ligand in the tumor necrosis factor family that weakly induces apoptosis. TWEAK, like many members of the TNF family, was able to induce interleukin-8 synthesis in a number of cell lines. Recombinant protein corresponding to human TWEAK, comprising the TNF-like extracellular domain, expressed in E. coli. Biological Activity: Assay #1: The ED50 as determined by the dose- dependent stimulation of IL-8 production by human PBMC is less than 10ng/ml. Assay #2: TWEAK weakly induces the death of HT29 cells when cultured in the presence of IFN-y. The ED50 for this effect is between 30-45ng/ml. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
